TheatreWorks New Milford Announces Summer Program for Kids Sign-Ups Going on Now; Program Starts June 21
NEW MILFORD, CONN. (June 13, 2008) – TheatreWorks New Milford is now accepting applications from young thespians for the THEATREWORKS KIDS SUMMER PROGRAM for summer 2008. This theatrical workshop is offered to budding young performers between the ages of 7 and 17 and runs for four weeks, from Saturday, June 21 to Sunday, July 20. The schedule includes rehearsals held Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This summer, the TheatreWorks Kids will present their production of GODSPELL JUNIOR, featuring the international hit “Day by Day.” This production gives participants the opportunity to experience various theatrical traditions, including clowning, pantomime, charades, acrobatics, and vaudeville in a musical about kindness, tolerance, and love. The four-week program will culminate in three performances for the public on July 19 and 20.
TheatreWorks Kids Summer Program is under the direction of children’s theater instructor, Beth Bonnabeau-Harding. Ms. Bonnabeau-Harding is best known for her work in regional children’s theatre and as the instructor for the highly acclaimed TheatreWorks Kids Programs since 2006.
Class size is limited and scheduled on a first-come, first serve basis. The program’s three performances for the public will be held on Saturday, July 19, at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., and Sunday, July 20, at 2:00 p.m. Enrollment is $360 per child. Siblings will be admitted at $299 per child.
Plus, there’s a special for TheatreWorks Kids alumni: students who have been through TheatreWorks Kids Programs — in 2007 and 2008 only — can gain admittance for just $330 ($299 for siblings).
