“A Little Party” was a Big Success

On Sunday, we held “A Little Party for A Little Night Music” at Homeward Bound Interior Fashions on 20 Bank Street in New Milford. The reception, a celebration of TheatreWorks’ production of A Little Night Music, was a smash hit with a turnout of some 100 guests.

We’d like to express our sincere thanks to everyone at Homeward Bound for hosting this event, namely Trip Rothschild, Kathy Walsh, and Chad Dutcher. Please stop by their storefront and you’ll see the front window adorned with A Little Night Music-themed appointments. The “Night Music” tapestry was painted (and is for sale) by TheatreWorks board member Paula Anderson, and the window “set” was also designed by Paula with assistance from TheatreWorks Vice President and Technical Director, Scott Wyshynski.

We also wish to thank the outstanding cuisine provided by Ristorante Lucia of New Milford, Nine Main Bakery & Deli of New Preston, Fife ‘n Drum Restaurant of Kent, Belgique Patisserie & Chocolatier of Kent, and Executive Chef of New Milford.

Lastly, we must thank you, our audience members, and all those who attended the reception. We hope you enjoyed the polished interior design that Homeward bound has to offer, and we hope you were able to get a real glimpse of the outstanding Broadway-caliber theatre that exists in the heart of New Milford. If you didn’t know about us, we’re glad you found us. If you do know about us, and you love what you see, please tell everyone you know about TheatreWorks New Milford. We mean it when we say, “Word of mouth is our best form of advertising.”

Thank you.

TheatreWorks New Milford Alumnus — Aynsley Bubbico

TheatreWorks is honored when one of its own hits the “Big Time,” such as Robin De Jesus, who performed as an ensemble member in the TheatreWorks’ production of Sweeney Todd (directed by A Little Night Music director, Brad Blake) in 2001. And where is Robin now? Well, after appearing in Rent on Broadway, he moved on to receive a Tony Award nomination for his outstanding performance in the musical In the Heights, among other things.

Now, Mr. De Jesus is joined in the ranks of successful TheatreWorks alumni by Ms. Aynsley Bubbico. Ms. Bubbico graced the TheatreWorks stage on three occasions. The first time was in the Ken Ludwig farce, Moon Over Buffalo (2000). Her second appearance was in director Blake’s production of Cabaret (2000), and finally in the classic Hart-Kaufman comedy, The Man Who Came to Dinner (2001-2002).

Since departing TheatreWorks and Southern Connecticut, Ms. Bubbico earned her BFA in acting from Syracuse University and then headed for L.A. On Tuesday, October 14th, she was featured in her 4th episode of the highly-acclaimed TV series, Greek on the ABC Family Channel.

Like Mr. De Jesus, Ms. Bubbico attended Norwalk High School where both studied Music under instructor Susan Pettibone. Ms. Pettibone is currently on stage playing Desirée in A Little Night Music.

In addition to Greek, Ms. Bubbico has appeared in TV series such as Cold Case on CBS and HBO’s 12 Miles of Bad Road with Lily Tomlin. Her film credits include The Cookie Thief and Wilbur, to name only a few. You can see Aynsley’s profile on the Internet Movie Database here.

Please join us in congratulating Ms. Bubbico as her star continues to rise. And remember, you can always say, “Hey, I saw her at TheatreWorks!
