Sun Ready to Set on A Little Night Music!
Final Two Performances This Weekend; Limited Seating Saturday

Friends of TheatreWorks, this weekend marks the final two performances of Stephen Sondheim’s beautiful and comedic farce, A Little Night Music. There is limited seating available for Saturday, October 25th and a few more seats available for Friday, October 24th. Curtain for both nights is at 8:00 p.m.

We have you, our audience members, to thank for making A Little Night Music the most attended autumn show we’ve ever mounted and one of our most successful shows ever. Period. If you’ve seen it, you’ve helped spread the word of its astounding performances and impeccable production value. And for that, we are eternally grateful. If you haven’t seen it, you still have two more chances! So please don’t wait…buy your tickets here.

But other words of appreciation are in order. TheatreWorks New Milford owes a debt of gratitude to Director Bradford Blake, who (virtually single-handedly) pulled this amazing cast together, at practically the last minute, to make this production a reality. Also, the highest praise must go to Musical Director Charles Smith and the pitch-perfect musicians he assembled to bring Sondheim’s gorgeous harmonies to our ears.

We lost our lead stage manager Stacy-Lee Erickson prior to opening, but she created a backstage environment that was ready-to-go before her departure. Quicker than lightning, Laura Gilbert, Kari Stewart, Debbie Myhill, and Charity Ferris arrived on the scene to fill in this enormous gap and to act as maids and servants onstage.

From our turntable pusher, Lainey Ford, to our lighting operator, Patrick Willett, to our set designer, Paula Anderson, and our unbelievable costumer designer, Lesley Neilson-Bowman, they represented the talented 9/10ths of the production iceberg that lies beneath the surface.

As for those on stage, teamwork and professionalism were the watchwords that defined this production. When the actress playing Anne Egerman had to leave the production 16 days prior to opening, she was replaced seamlessly by the Assistant Stage Manager, Jessica Stewart, with the expertise of a true pro.

Our melodious Swedish/Greek Chorus: Ron Dukenski, Jody Bayer, Jessica Smith, Catharine McCollian, and Greg McMahan, were pure heaven to listen to.

Becca Myhill, a graduate of the TheatreWorks Kids Theatre Program, was one of the finest ― if not the finest ― young performer we’ve been blessed to have under our stage lights.

And Joel Romanelli, Billy Hicks, Jackie Decho-Holm, Jane Farnol, Mark Feltch, Brendan Padgett, Priscilla Squiers, Susan Pettibone, and Bruce Tredwell were among the finest onstage performers who’ve ever graced our stage.

A Little Night Music was a team effort if ever there was one. We thank our audiences and our cast and crew from the bottom of our hearts.

Mrs. Bob Cratchit Great Fun for the Holidays and
Especially for New Year’s Eve

As mentioned in our last edition, Christopher Durang’s hilarious parody of A Christmas Carol, Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge, is in rehearsals and is set to open December 5th. Tickets are already on sale here.

And we’ve already sold out two houses! There are no tickets remaining for Saturday, December 6th and Sunday, December 14th. So order your tickets as soon as you make plans. Tickets are $20 and the show is off-beat Holiday humor with hilarity for both young and old…not to mention it’s “family friendly.”

As always, our pièce de résistanceis on New Year’s Eve. We offer an open bar, a raffle, and hot and cold hors d’oeuvres. For the amount of gourmet food, libations, and pure entertainment you receive, it’s a very inexpensive night out for New Year’s. This year’s New Year’s Eve gala is also a fundraiser for the purpose of expanding our facilities. The ticket cost is $50 per person and $30 per person for Season Ticket Holders.

Trust us, this event always sells fast. So join us for a night of Mrs. Bob Cratchit and welcome in the New Year with us!
